Subnano Browse quickstart
Subnano Browse lets your agent or assistant search Subnano without an account, wallet or API key. Read published free Posts, preview paid Posts and open free originals on Subnano.
Find the public connection and local downloads in the connection guide. Manual installation is available; no plugin directory listing is announced.
1. Connect Subnano Browse
You need a client that supports a remote MCP connection using Streamable HTTP. MCP Apps support adds the interactive browser; text-only clients can use the same tools.
Connection URL: https://mcp.subnano.ai/mcp. No account or API key is required.
In your client's MCP connection settings, add https://mcp.subnano.ai/mcp, name the connection Subnano Browse, and choose no authentication. If the publisher supplies a plugin package instead, use your client's supported plugin installation flow. Reload the tool list after connecting.
Ask your assistant:
Use Subnano Browse. Call subnano_context and tell me whether the public read tools are available.
The connection should expose exactly subnano_context, subnano_categories, subnano_search, subnano_preview, subnano_read_content and subnano_tag_collection. An unselected identity is expected: this edition does not connect accounts.
2. Search and preview
Search Subnano for “Nano”. Show a relevant free Post and a paid Post if available, including title, author, public introduction and known XNO price. Preview them without buying anything.
The assistant uses subnano_search with {"q":"Nano","access":"all"}, then subnano_preview with {"post_id":"<returned Post UUID>"}. The search argument is q, not query. access can be all, free or paid.
In clients with the interactive browser, the labels follow your client's language (English or Danish). In ChatGPT, the inline card is a compact list of a few Posts with Show more and Search and filter. Search, the All / Free / Paid filter and paging are in the fullscreen view, which opens when you select a Post or Search and filter. Other clients that cannot go fullscreen keep search and filters inline.
Each Post has one badge: Free, or 🔒
3. Read free content and open the original
Read the full content of the free Post you found. For the paid Post, show only its public preview.
The assistant uses subnano_read_content with the free Post's post_id. In the browser, select a Post to read it in the fullscreen reader. A free Post shows its full article (shortened if it is very long), and a paid Post shows its full public introduction followed by a note that the rest is paid content, with the price when known. Paid content is never shown. For a free Post, select Open on Subnano to open the original, or use the returned canonical https://subnano.ai/posts/<UUID> link in a text-only client. Paid and unknown-access Posts have contentUrl: null and no outgoing Post link. Their public previews remain available in the conversation.
Full reading only succeeds while the Post is published and free. If it becomes paid between search and reading, the server refuses the protected content. An unavailable result does not authorize a purchase or another way around the paywall.
Done: your assistant has searched, previewed a Post and successfully read available free content or opened its original link. No account setup is needed.
Follow a creator's collection
When a result exposes a tag, ask your assistant to call
subnano_tag_collection with {"tag_id":"<returned tag UUID>","page":1,"per_page":24}.
The browser's tag links load the same collection and reset to its first page.
Share its collectionUrl at /@<handle>/tags/<saved-slug>. The immutable
/tags/<tag UUID> entry remains available and redirects to the current address
after a handle change. Matching published Posts appear newest first; identical
tag names from other creators remain separate.
Results expose safe {id,profileId,name, collectionUrl} tags in search, preview
and read metadata. Collection links are available on paid previews too, while
paid contentUrl stays null. Drafts and paid bodies stay unavailable. Pagination
defaults to 24, supports 1–48 items and offset at most 47952. An empty later page
retains the true total; a collection with no eligible published members is unavailable.
Rechecks can shorten the item list while the total remains the endpoint snapshot.
Check the connected tool list: this repository contract does not establish that
an existing hosted connection has been deployed with the feature.
If something is missing
- No tools: verify the connection URL above, remote MCP support and the client's tool permissions.
- No interactive browser: continue with tool results and the canonical Post links; your client may not support MCP Apps.
- No free result or content unavailable: try a broader search with
access: "free". Availability can change. A publisher may also need to release the atomic public-content route; protected reads are never a fallback. - Want an account, drafts or notifications: continue with the separate full MCP quickstart. Browse has no account, wallet, purchase or publication tools.
See the MCP reference for the edition boundary and tool details, or Start Here for other connection options.
